Terms of Use (Membership Agreement)

1. What is the service?

KONSİL is a platform that pre-assesses research ideas against the public literature and matches researchers with possible collaborators through ORCID-linked self-declaration and public publication records. Novelty and feasibility outputs are an AI pre-assessment — they are not a systematic review, peer review, or scientific or clinical advice. Final responsibility rests with the user.

2. Membership and the ORCID requirement

An account may only be opened with your own ORCID iD, a valid closed-beta invitation and a password you set with KONSİL. Ownership of the iD is not technically verified; for that reason, opening an account with someone else's iD breaches these terms and is grounds for closing the account. Running a search requires a signed-in account. A researcher with a personal invitation link may join only that chat without opening an account. The data processed in these flows are explained in the Privacy Notice.

3. Member obligations

• You open an account only under your own identity and link only your own publication records (OpenAlex/Scholar) to your profile.
• The information you enter in your profile (institution, topics, what you offer) must be accurate and current.
• You keep your password and personal account links confidential and notify KONSİL if you discover unauthorised use of your account.
• You may not use the platform for unsolicited bulk messaging, harassment, advertising or commercial purposes unrelated to research.
• Chat invitation links are personal; do not share them with anyone other than the person you invited.

4. Visibility of your profile

Your profile is shown to other members in the collaboration pool on the basis of the explicit consent you give at registration, and may appear as a team candidate in relevant searches. This consent is separate from the membership contract and can be withdrawn at any time.

5. Leaving and deletion

You may delete your account at any time from your account page. On deletion, your member profile, search archive, outcome/impact and technical event records are permanently erased; your messages in chat history are retained for the integrity of the other person's conversation but are unlinked from your account. If you also do not wish to appear in results compiled from public sources, you can separately submit a "remove me" request.

6. Limitation of liability

KONSİL provides matching and pre-assessment; it is not a party to any collaboration formed between members, to the research carried out, or to the content shared. The service is provided "as is"; no warranty is given that it will run uninterrupted or error-free.

7. Breach and termination

In case of a breach of these terms — in particular impersonating another person or claiming someone else's publication record — the account may be suspended or closed.

8. Changes

These terms may be updated; significant changes are announced to members through the platform. The current text is always on this page.
